Slack integration

Use Slack to receive ThisIsDown alerts in a channel your team already watches.

What you need​

  • A Slack workspace where you can create or manage apps.
  • An Incoming Webhook URL for the destination channel.

Setup​

  1. Open Slack API and create or select an app.
  2. Enable Incoming Webhooks.
  3. Add a webhook to the channel that should receive alerts.
  4. Copy the webhook URL.
  5. In ThisIsDown, open Account → Integrations → Slack and paste the URL.
  6. Click Send Test, then save.

Troubleshooting​

  • Make sure the URL starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
  • If Slack rotated or revoked the webhook, create a new one and update ThisIsDown.
  • If delivery fails after saving, check that the Slack app is still installed in the workspace.
