Telegram integration

Use Telegram to receive fast outage and recovery alerts through a bot.

What you need​

  • A bot token from BotFather.
  • A chat ID for your private chat, group, or channel.

Setup​

  1. Message @BotFather in Telegram and create a bot.
  2. Copy the bot token.
  3. Add the bot to the destination chat or channel.
  4. Find the chat ID for that destination.
  5. Paste the bot token and chat ID into ThisIsDown.
  6. Send a test and save.

Troubleshooting​

  • The bot must be a member of the chat or channel.
  • For channels and supergroups, chat IDs often start with -100.
  • If Telegram returns an authorization error, rotate the bot token in BotFather.
